Large Field Sizes Overview

The Large Field Sizes feature allows you to have prices and costs in Inventory and POS up to 99,999.999. The quantity sold in POS can be up to 99,999.99, while Item Extension (qty X price) and Transaction Total can be up to 9,999,999.99. In Inventory Maintenance, the Quantity on Hand can be up to 999,999,999.99, and SKU can be longer than 14 characters. (Note: Laser POs (RPO) print a maximum quantity size of 9,999,999 and cost of 99,999.999. Laser Receiver’s (RRP) print a maximum quantity size of 99,999 and cost of 99,999.999). Lastly, with Large Field Sizes, Multistore users can have stores longer than one character.

The Large Field Sizes feature should be activated on your system by the Epicor Licensing Department if any of the following are true:
  1. You have items with a price or cost greater than $9,999
  2. You have items with a Quantity on Hand greater than 99,999
  3. You have SKUs longer than 14 characters
  4. You have stores longer than 1 character
In POS, if you enter a quantity greater than 99,999.999, and the item is an "H" (hardware) record, POS gives you an error and you must type a smaller quantity. For "L" (lumber) records, if you enter a quantity greater than 99,999, or if the quantity posted is less than 99,999 but is over 99,999 in any of the three units of measure, POS automatically breaks out the quantity into multiple lines. For example, say you have an item set up with Each (EA) and Linear Feet (LF) and there are 10 LF in an EA.  If you post 10,000 EA's (which is 100,000 LF) POS will break this up into two lines.

Once this feature has been activated, you will no longer be able to access Legacy functions IPC, LOD, MPH, PIP, MPO and RP (you will only have access to their Eagle for Windows counterparts). You will be able to access Legacy IMU, but items which have a larger price/cost/qty can only be displayed in IMU; they cannot be changed there. If such an item is displayed in Legacy IMU, the bottom of the screen will say "ITEM HAS LARGE FIELDS. CHANGES MUST BE DONE IN WinIMU."

Large Format reports require a networked laser printer, and will be sized to fit. The font will be adjusted based upon the longest print line in the report. You will be required to select "Large Format" on the Print Setup page of many reports. Or, alternatively, you can set up an option that will automatically set the "Large Format" field to Yes in these reports. You can also run a utility that
