Minimum Order Point.

This field on the Stocking tab of the Inventory Maintenance window to specify the minimum order point for the SKU.
When you run the Order Point Report (ROP), the system uses this field to determine the new order point. For more information about how the system uses this field in the order point calculation, refer to online help for the Order Point Report.
You may want to use this field for SKUs that you sell by the each, but which customers usually purchase in multiples.
For example:
You sell casters by the each. However, customers usually purchase four at a time. You can set the Min Order Point to 4 so that you never run out of a "set" of casters.
Any time you change the Min Order Point field, run the Order Point Report (ROP) to update the Order Point field. Otherwise, the Suggested Order Report (RSO) won't use the new order point in the suggested order calculation.
If you fill in this field and then run the Order Point Report and fill in the Minimum New OP field, the system uses the Min Order Point field in Inventory Maintenance as the new order point (it ignores the minimum order point you enter for the Order Point Report).
This field is numeric. You can enter up to four numbers, from 1-9999, or this field can be blank.
The default is blank.
