Purch Decimal Pl

Purchase Decimal Placement.

This field on the Stocking tab of the Inventory Maintenance window is the number of places to the left that the system moves the decimal point. This field is only for Lumber/Contractor POS users.

The system needs the purchase decimal placement to correctly report inventory information. Since you may purchase and stock an item in different units of measure, the system must be able to provide the information you need in purchasing and stocking units of measure.

The system determines the purchase decimal placement for you. It uses the # of Dec Pl field in Unit of Measure Maintenance (MUM) (accessed from the GoTo menu in Inventory Maintenance). However, you can enter the purchase decimal placement yourself.

0 = You purchase by the BF (board foot), LF (lineal foot), RL (roll), SF (square foot), or BX (box).

1 = You purchase by the DF (10 board foot) or DL (10 lineal foot).

2 = You purchase by the CF (100 board foot) or CL (100 lineal foot).

3 = You purchase by the MF (1000 board foot), ML (1000 lineal foot), or MS (1000 square feet).  For example:  You purchase dimensional lumber by the MF. The purchase decimal placement is 3.

The default is 0.
