This field in the Pricing tab of Inventory Maintenance is the promotion price of this item when it is on promotion.
You can put an item on promotion by:
using the promotion subsystem (the Modify Item Promotion window [MIP] and the Update Promotion Price Report [RUP]). With this method, the system updates this field.
entering a promotion price in this field. With this method, you must remember to clear the promotion price when the promotion is over. If you enter a promotion price, it will not print on a promotion report. Also, the system will not track the promotion history.
Note: Do not change an existing promotion price by entering a new price. The system will not recognize the new price and will incorrectly calculate promotion history.
This field is numeric. You can enter up to seven numbers plus a decimal point. For example, 1234.567.
