This field on the Codes tab of Inventory Maintenance indicates the popularity of this item based on sales history. Depending on how you run the Product Analysis Report (RPA), sales history may be one of the following:
units sold
sales dollars
gross profit dollars
gross profit percent
on hand value
year-to-date transactions
You can include and exclude items with a popularity code on most inventory reports.
A = Items with this code typically generate 70% of your sales as a group.
B = Items with this code typically generate 15% of your sales as a group.
A and B items generate 85% of your sales.
C = Items with this code typically generate 10% of your sales as a group. A, B, and C items generate 95% of your sales.
D = Items with this code typically generate 5% of your sales as a group. A, B, C, and D items generate 100% of your sales.
X = Items with this code generate 0% of your sales as a group.
Blank = This item has no popularity code.
