This field is required when creating a message on the Notes tab of Inventory Maintenance. Use this field to define the characteristics of the message you want to enter.
1 = Post and print the message as an additional description line when the item is posted in POS.
2 = Display the message in a window on the POS screen when the item is posted.
3 = Upon request, display the message as additional item information. Access the additional information in Inventory Maintenance only. Use this type of message to record special notes about an item. For example, that you sold an extraordinary amount of D-size batteries in February 1999 because of a power outage caused by a severe ice storm.
4 = Display the message in a window and post and print the message as an additional descriptor line when the item is posted in POS.
8 = (iNet users only) Display the message in the iNet catalog.
9 = Upon request, display a list of substitute items for the item being sold.
