Looking Up Purchase Orders

Use the following procedure to display an existing purchase order.

  1. Display the Purchasing and Receiving window.

  2. If you know the purchase order number, either type it in the P.O. Number box and press ENTER, or type it in the Vendor box preceded by a period and press ENTER.

  3. If you want to scroll through all POs, use the Next and/or Previous buttons to locate the desired PO.

Note:  In Options Configuration, the option "Default Next/Previous method for WinPUR" determines the default as to whether the Next and Previous buttons scroll by PO number or Vendor.  You can change the Next Method on a session-by-session basis by clicking Misc, and then clicking "Change next by to."

  1. If you know first few numbers of the purchase order number, click the arrow to right of the P.O. Number box to display the purchase order list. In the P.O. Number box, start typing the purchase order number. The list scrolls to a purchase order number that matches the number you enter, or is a close match. Click a PO number from the list to select it and close the list.

  2. If you know the vendor code, type the code in the Vendor box and press ENTER. Then click the arrow to the right of the P.O. Number box to display a list of purchase orders for that vendor. Click a purchase order from the list to select it and close the list.

  3. If you know the vendor name (sort name), type = (an equal sign) in the Vendor box, followed by the name. Click the name from the list that displays to select the vendor and close the list. Then click the arrow to the right of the P.O. Number box to display a list of purchase orders for that vendor. Click a purchase order from the list to select it and close the list.

  4. If you want to display the last PO accessed on your terminal (in the same session), type a period (.) in the Vendor field and press ENTER.

  5. The Purchase Order Viewer is also available. To display the viewer, click View PO. You can then click on the appropriate PO in the grid that displays, then click Select.
