Second Release Date

This date in the Purchasing and Receiving window only applies to a purchase order that is being written for a distribution center (DC) store. It also only applies to merchandise that is considered a DC item. As a Suggested Order (RSO) is run to replenish merchandise to the stores from the DC, the RSO looks at the Second Release Date, and if today’s date is after the Second Release Date, all remaining DC quantities for this item are forced to the stores until the DC quantity is gone. An example is Christmas merchandise: On December 10th, if there are still any seasonal Christmas items in the DC, they need to be sent to the stores so they can be sold.
