Welcome to Epicor Eagle™ Purchasing for Windows. At the most basic level, purchasing can be defined as deciding what to order, placing the order with the vendor, checking in the stock, and placing it on your shelves. But your Purchasing application includes much more than that. The system tracks sales of each item that you stock and based on sales trends and current stock on hand, recommends a suggested order quantity. In addition to that, you can use the Purchasing application to:
calculate optimum stocking levels for all items based on demand and lead time
create and store purchase orders detailing the items ordered and quantities
easily receive the items on the purchase order, and update the stock and price information of each item record
The easy-to-use online help system can assist you in finding out what you need to know about the Purchasing application. Look at the list of books on the left side of your screen. Inside the Purchasing and Receiving book you'll find other books with information topics. Double-click a book to open or close it. The topic list displays when a book is open. Double-click a topic to display it on your screen.
To learn more about the online help system, open the Using Help and Other Training Resources book and then open the Using Online Help book. Read the topics in that book and you will find out more about navigating the online help system.
For more information about the classic Purchasing functions and reports you access from the Main Menu, refer to your Purchasing and Receiving Manual or press the Help key after displaying the function or report in the Network Access window.
