Lookups forced to uppercase (case insensitive)

(ID# 8958)

In this System option in Options Configuration, check each field in the list that you want to have the system force to uppercase so that entering upper, lower, or mixed case characters into the file will find that item/entity.

You can force to uppercase the following fields:

To use, select choice 1 "Customer Sort Name" in this option. Doing so will cause the system to automatically queue (to channel 40) the utility FXSRT with report option “Uppercase customer sort name” to change the sort name to uppercase on all existing customers, to store new/changed customer sort names in uppercase. It allows to lookup by customer sort name using the uppercased value regardless of how the user entered it (upper, lower, or mixed case).

To use, select choice 6 “Customer Contacts Name” available in the MCR Contacts tab. This choice allows you to change all existing customer contact’s names to uppercase so you can no longer have an account with the same contact entered more than once, for example: John Smith and JOHN SMITH. In Options Configuration, once you select 6 in this option and press <Change> the system will automatically run the FXSRT utility which will change all existing contact’s names to upper case.  Accounts which already have more than one contact with the same name will retain both contacts.
