If you want to give an employee (user) additional access on the system, use the following procedure to add capabilities to an existing user.
In the Terminal box, enter the terminal at which you want to add capabilities to a user, or enter ALL if you want the user to have the added capabilities at all terminals (except terminal 1. If you enter ALL in the Terminal box, terminal 1 is not affected. You will have to repeat the steps in this procedure for terminal 1).
In the Store box, leave the default of 1.
Multistore: Enter the store at which you want to add capabilities to a user, or enter ALL if you want the user to have the added capabilities at all stores.
In the User box, enter the user to whom you are adding capabilities, or select a user from the drop-down list.
Note: You can select ALL If you want to add capabilities to all users.
Select the additional capabilities (also referred to as "bit numbers") that you want to give the user by doing one of the following:
In the grid, click the word No in the Authorized column of the capability you want to add. The word No changes to Yes. Repeat this process for all capabilities you want to add.
Click Misc, then click Add a Security Capability. In the Add One Security Capability dialog box, enter the bit number that corresponds to the capability you want to give the user. Then click OK. Repeat this process for each capability you want to add.
Note: this method works well only if you know the bit numbers associated with the capabilities you want to add.
To add all capabilities to the user, click Misc, then click Set All Capabilities to Yes.
Click Change.
