The PO to Transfer feature allows you to generate a purchase order (PO) as you normally do for one or more stores on your system. Then easily create a transfer document using the items and quantities on the PO. For example, the From-store on the transfer is your warehouse location and the To-store is a branch store location. The transfer To-store is the store for which you generated the PO.
Once you've completed the required set up procedures, the following is an overview of the PO to Transfer process:
Run a Suggested Order report (RSO) to create the PO at the Store. The Store will be the To-store for the transfer. Run the RSO by manufacturer (the manufacturer is the From-store).
At the From-store, create a transfer from the PO. This store is the From-store for the Transfer.
Print the transfer. At this point, the Transfer is Status R (request).
Pick the merchandise at the From-store.
Edit the transfer to reflect actual shipping information (correct the quantities, add the pallet number, etc.).
Change the transfer to Status S (shipped) and print the transfer.
If needed, print labels for the items.
Check-in the merchandise at the To-store and change the transfer to Status C (Complete). Create a transfer adjustment to account for any discrepancies.
