Secure FTP for Ace Hotsheets and Invoices

Secure FTP is a new communication method to receive Hotsheets and Invoices (EFM/ERP) that has been developed to reduce communication errors and the transfer time to retrieve the data. With Secure FTP, retrieval of EFM or ERP data will be much faster and more reliable. Additionally, it introduces a security layer around the data being transmitted.  No other changes within the applications themselves have occurred. The only change in the EFM or ERP applications is the communication method itself.

In order to take advantage of this, you will need to have a broadband connection to the Internet.

To set high-speed transmission:

  1. From Network Access, at the Function prompt, type ACEUTL, and press Enter.

  2. To set Secure FTP for Hotsheets and invoices under EFM/ERP Transmission Settings, at the Transmission Type prompt type S, and then press Change.

Upon making the selection and clicking the CHANGE key, the system will perform a behind-the-scenes check to confirm that the proper requirements have been met for the system. If the quick test is successful, your changes will be saved and you are now ready for Secure FTP transmission for Hotsheets and Invoices. If an error is encountered, a warning message will display.

If you make a mistake while entering the new information, simply clear the field(s) out and press <Change>, and the fields will be set back to their default values. You can change to Secure FTP for Hotsheets and Invoices by simply performing the steps above. No formal notification to Ace is necessary. The files being picked up will be available regardless of the communication method being used.

An important note is that in the event you cannot connect to the Internet during your normal attempt to retrieve your EFM/ERP data, you will always have the option to return to the original async (modem) connection simply by returning to ACEUTL and changing the transmission setting back to A for Async for EFM/ERP transmission settings.  However, you can only use this option if your modem and phone line are still available.
