Maintain Dynamic Promotions Viewer Overview

The Maintain Dynamic Promotions Viewer (MDP) is your control center for managing Dynamic Promotions. From this viewer, you will create, schedule, and delete Dynamic Promotions; add Item Lists; and display rules and settings for Dynamic Promotions.

You must be assigned security bit 965 “View Dynamic Promotions” to open this viewer. To add, delete, or modify Dynamic Promotions, you need security bit 966 “Add/Change/Delete Dynamic Promotions.”

There are three ways to open the Maintain Dynamic Promotions Viewer:

• From the Eagle Browser launch bar, type MDP

• From Eagle Browser, select the Inventory Menu, then Maintain Dynamic Promotions (MDP)

• From Modify Item Promotion (MIP) in Inventory Maintenance, click Misc and select D – Maintain Dynamic Promotions.

Use the icons at the top of the viewer to begin working on a Dynamic Promotion.

• Lookup - displays active promotions. You can set option 1801 "Dynamic Promotions - SKU lookup only displays item-based DP's" to Yes to determine if the SKU lookup in MDP displays only active item-based promotions or displays all active promotions (both item-based and totals-based active promotions). 
• Display – opens a window that summarizes rules and settings for the selected Dynamic Promotion. You can also open the Display Dynamic Promotion window by double-clicking a promotion in the viewer.  
• Add – launches a wizard that walks you through creating a Dynamic Promotion. This is the only way to open the wizard.
• Change – allows you to change certain aspects of the selected Dynamic Promotion. Note that you cannot change the type of Dynamic Promotion, the item list used, the percent off (if used), or the quantity required.
• Delete – displays a confirmation window before deleting the selected Dynamic Promotion. Note that active promotions cannot be deleted.
• Schedule –allows you to schedule a previously unscheduled promotion or to modify the schedule of an inactive promotion. You can schedule Dynamic Promotions to be activated with the Update Promotion Price Report (RUP) Option F, or manually activate/deactivate a promotion.
• Item List – launches the Item List Maintenance Viewer. You will use this viewer to manage the item lists associated with the Dynamic Promotions you create. You must be assigned security bit 954 “Ability to access Item List Maintenance” in order to open this viewer. If the highlighted promotion doesn’t have an item list, Item List Maintenance still displays, but is blank. If the highlighted promotion has more than one item list linked to it (e.g., a dynamic promotion type 3 "buy x, get y free or discounted"), a list displays, from which you can select the item list you want to view.
