This field in the Maintain Tax Codes (MTX) window indicates whether there is a tax table for this tax code, and if so, the type of table it is. You may need to use a tax table if the tax rate does not always give penny accuracy.
C = Ceiling table. With this type of table, the system uses the table to charge tax on sales up to a certain amount (the "ceiling"). For sales that are more than the ceiling, the system uses the tax rate. For a detailed explanation of ceiling tables, see the field help for Max Sale Amount.
N = No tax table.
R = Repeating table. With this type of table, the system uses the table to charge tax on sales up to a certain amount (the last maximum sale amount in the table). For sales that are more than this amount, the system uses a special calculation. For a detailed explanation of repeating tables, see the field help for Max Sale Amount.
This field defaults to N.
