(ID#1854) This POS option in Options Configuration allows you to set the tax code (using the destination tax feature) to the tax code in which the store is located for the in-store pickup transactions.
Clerks have a choice to answer the prompt as Yes or No. If the prompt is answered Yes, the transaction is flagged as an In-Store Pickup. POS will bypass destination tax based on zip code and set the header tax code to the local (lockin) store tax code (for example, MCT default from terminal lockin store).
If the prompt is answered No, the transaction
is considered as a shipment, and destination tax rules based on zip code
apply.
This
prompt applies to the following transactions: Orders, Special Orders,
Estimates, Layaways and Service orders. Transfers are excluded. The prompt
only displays automatically in 'create' mode.
For
a Sale transaction, the in-store pick-up status defaults to Yes. The clerk
does not receive a prompt.
Once
the In-Store Pickup status is set, it can be viewed or changed by going
into the Ship Via dialog, either using the Ship Via hotlink or header
menu option M - Shipping Options.
If
you set this option to N, POS will NOT prompt the clerk to flag a transaction
as In-Store Pick-up. Destination tax will apply to all transaction types.
This functionality requires existing Option 1024 "Destination Tax on System" set to Yes.
See Option 1855 "Default Answer for "Is this an In-Store Pick-up" to set the default choice of Yes or No.
