Category Pricing Plans (CPP) Overview

Use category pricing plans to sell items at point-of-sale (POS) with broader pricing flexibility. A category pricing plan is similar to a POS open quote. An open quote is a customized item price list that you set up for a specific account. The category pricing plan is more flexible than an open quote because it allows you to assign prices at more than just the SKU Part level. You can also link one plan to more than one customer.

Plans consists of pricing categories at levels you select (including contract, SKU Part , product code, fineline, class, department, vendor, sub-plan, and base). Each plan consists of one or more categories. Each category within a plan has an expiration date, which can be different for each category.

If a customer has a category pricing plan assigned to them, at POS the system searches the category pricing plan in a specific order. To learn more about how the system evaluates the category pricing plan, click here.
