As part of enabling Eagle N Series, it is important to print and preview your output for item and bin labels, and confirm they can be successfully scanned.
Labels printed from Eagle N Series may print slightly differently. This is due to minor differences in printer margins, spacing, and fonts when labels are printed from Eagle N Series (Inventory Maintenance configured for Eagle N Series). This is similar to the minor differences that can occur when printing to different printers. In most cases, you will not notice any difference in labels printed in N Series; however, it is best to test your customized labels to make sure that they print with a barcode that can be scanned, and with data that is not truncated.
Typical issues and how to resolve them:
Margins may be slightly different. Barcodes can be missing a left or right line that renders them un-scannable. Correct this by adjusting the left margin in the Label Designer application, and then printing a sampling of labels under both Eagle N Series and Eagle for Windows. Then test scanning them.
Font sizes may be slightly different. Make sure critical information does not print partially outside of the label. Test font sizes by using longer SKUs, descriptions, part numbers, and locations. Correct any problems by slightly adjusting the position of the affected fields in Label Designer, and then re-testing the labels under both Eagle N Series and Eagle for Windows.
