Eagle N Series Setup: Customize Options and Security

The following options and security bits allow you to customize Eagle N Series to meet the needs of your business.

Important: Applications that appear in the windows taskbar must be deleted and re-added. Otherwise, starting an application from the taskbar launches the Eagle for Windows version instead of the Eagle N Series version.

Eagle N Series Options

• 1463 "Legacy compatibility - show keyboard shortcuts on menusDisplay keyboard shortcuts (1, 2, 3, A, B, etc.) on the GoTo and Misc. style menus. When this option is set to Yes, the shortcuts display. Note: Shortcuts always work, even if they are not displayed."

• 1506 "Legacy compatibility - show numbers on tabsDisplay tab numbers (1., 2., etc.). When set to Yes, the tab numbers are displayed to remind the user of the shortcut key. Ctrl+1 goes to the first tab, Ctrl+2 goes to the second, etc. Note: Shortcut keys always work even if they are not displayed.."

• The following three options control the ability to use various compass-based Eagle N Series features.

• • 1507 "Enable Compass features in Inventory MaintenanceSetting this option to No removes the following features from Inventory Maintenance (IMU):
    - The Compass tabs Analytics and Custom Fields
    - Market Basket
    - Tab Maintenance
    - New Record
    
    Note the following:
       -Each of the above features is also affected by options and security.
       -Compass must be installed on the station for this option to be considered.

  • 1508 "Enable Compass features in Customer MaintenanceSetting this option to No removes the following features from Customer Maintenance (MCR):
    - The Compass tabs Analytics and Custom Fields
    - Market Basket
    - Tab Maintenance
    - New Record
    
    Note the following:
       -Each of the above features is also affected by options and security.
       -Compass must be installed on the station for this option to be considered."

  • 1509 "Enable Compass features in Vendor MaintenanceSetting this option to No removes the following features from Vendor Maintenance (MVR):
    - The Compass tabs Analytics and Custom Fields
    - Market Basket
    - Tab Maintenance
    - New Record
    
    Note the following:
       -Each of the above features is also affected by options and security.
       -Compass must be installed on the station for this option to be considered."

• The following options allow you to determine if the application uses the toolbar with F-keys, or the ribbon bar with its new features. The ribbon bar does not have F-keys, but does have tooltips which identify the F-keys.  

• • 1510 "ATMU legacy compatibility - use toolbar with F-keysIf you set this option to Yes, the system uses the Eagle for Windows toolbar with F-keys, instead of the Eagle N Series ribbon, in New A/P Transactions (ATMU). Note: The toolbar may not have access to all the Eagle N Series functions available on the ribbon.

  • 1511 "Catalog E4W compatibility - use toolbar with F-keysIf you set this option to Yes, the system uses the Eagle for Windows toolbar with F-keys, instead of the Eagle N Series ribbon, in the Electronic Catalog. Note: The toolbar may not have access to all the Eagle N Series functions available on the ribbon."

  • 1512 "Customer Maintenance E4W compatibility - use toolbar with F-keysIf you set this option to Yes, the system uses the Eagle for Windows toolbar with F-keys, instead of the Eagle N Series ribbon, in Customer Maintenance (MCR). Note: The toolbar may not have access to all the Eagle N Series functions available on the ribbon.

  • 1516 "Purchasing E4W compatibility - use toolbar with F-keysIf you set this option to Yes, the system uses the Eagle for Windows toolbar with F-keys, instead of the Eagle N Series ribbon, in Purchasing and Receiving. Note: The toolbar may not have access to all the Eagle N Series functions available on the ribbon."

  • 1517 "Received On Account E4W compatibility - use toolbar with F-keysIf you set this option to Yes, the system uses the Eagle for Windows toolbar with F-keys, instead of the Eagle N Series ribbon, in Received on Account (ROA). Note: The toolbar may not have access to all the Eagle N Series functions available on the ribbon."

  • 1518 "Vendor Maintenance E4W compatibility - use toolbar with F-keysIf you set this option to Yes, the system uses the Eagle for Windows toolbar with F-keys, instead of the Eagle N Series ribbon, in Vendor Maintenance (MVR). Note: The toolbar may not have access to all the Eagle N Series functions available on the ribbon."

Eagle N Series Security Bits

• Bit 1086 "Ability to access ChatSetting this security bit to Yes allows the user to access "Chat" from within the Eagle Applications to contact the Eagle Advice Line."

• Bit 1087 "Ability to maintain queries in the Eagle Analytics Query SelectorsIn the Eagle Embedded Analytics Query Selector, this capability is required to add, edit, hide, and delete queries. This bit applies to all embedded analytics query selectors found in the maintenance applications (Inventory Maintenance, Customer Maintenance, Vendor Maintenance). This feature also requires Eagle Compass to be installed and licensed on the station."  

• Bit 1088 "Ability to edit fields on the Custom Fields tab of Customer MaintenanceSetting this bit to Yes allows the user to change values on the Custom Fields tab of Customer Maintenance. Note: When setting this bit to Yes, you must also set security bit 135 "Change customers" to Yes. This feature also requires Eagle Compass to be installed and licensed on the station."

• Bit 1089 "Ability to create/edit/delete Eagle User Defined Tabs in Tab MaintenanceSetting this bit to Yes allows the user to access the "Tab Maintenance" utility from within the Eagle Maintenance Apps (Inventory Maintenance, Customer Maintenance, Vendor Maintenance), and create/edit/delete Eagle User Defined Tabs. This feature also requires Eagle Compass to be installed and licensed on the station."

• Bit 1090 "Ability to edit fields on the Custom Fields tab of Inventory MaintenanceSetting this bit to Yes allows the user to change values on the Custom Fields tab of Inventory Maintenance. This feature also requires Eagle Compass to be installed and licensed on the station."

• Bit 1091 "Ability to edit fields on the Custom Fields tab of Vendor Maintenance Setting this bit to Yes allows the user to change values on the Custom Fields tab of Vendor Maintenance. Note: When setting this bit to Yes, you must also set security bit 176 "Change Vendors" to Yes. This feature also requires Eagle Compass to be installed and licensed on the station."

• Bit 1092 "Ability to access CommunitySetting this bit to Yes allows the user to access "Community" from within the Eagle Applications to participate in the Eagle online community."

• Bit 1161 "Allows access to Email Audit ViewerThe default is No."

• Bit 1163 "Access to Vendor Duplicates ViewerThe default is No."
