Looking Up Tax Codes

In the Maintain Tax Codes (MTX) window, there are two methods of looking up tax codes to display tax history: 1) use the drop-down list to find a tax code, or 2) search for a tax code by the Location field. The second method is particularly useful if you have a large number of tax codes on file.

  1. Display the Maintain Tax Codes (MTX) window.

  2. Use one of the following methods to display the tax code you want to view:

  3. Method 1: Click the arrow to the right of the tax code field, and select the tax code from the drop-down list. Then press Enter to display the tax code's history.

  4. Method 2: Enter an equal sign (=) in the Tax Code field, then immediately start entering the Location (description) of the tax code. When you locate the correct tax code, press Enter to display the tax code's history. For example, if you are looking for Orange County Sales Tax, you would type =orange (type as much of the description as necessary to locate the correct tax code).
