You need to assign an entity ID and Description to each financial entity you are defining. You can define financial entities using a range or wildcard option.
For example, the table below shows how to use the range option to define:
subaccount numbers 100, 200, and 300 as entities 1,2, and 3
and
entity ID "Consol" is the consolidation for entities 1, 2, and 3:
Entity ID |
Description |
Range or Wildcard |
Define as |
1 |
Lumber Dept. |
R |
DDDD-100 to DDDD-199 |
2 |
Hardware Dept. |
R |
DDDD-200 to DDDD-299 |
3 |
Plumbing Dept. |
R |
DDDD-300 to DDDD-399 |
Consol |
Consolidation |
R |
DDDD-100 to DDDD-399 |
Note: DDDD represents the main account number.
The entity ID you assign to the range is the financial entity you will use when printing reports. Based on the information in the table above, you would enter "Consol" to print reports for subaccount numbers 100 through 399. To print reports for subaccount numbers 300 through 399, you would enter "3".
