Training Mode: System Requirements and Setup

This topic describes system requirements and setup for Training Mode. Review this topic and make any required changes to your system before using the Training Mode.

System Requirements

To use the Training Mode, set option 70 "Training mode available on system" to Yes in Options Configuration.

Security Setup

In Security Maintenance (MSE), assign the appropriate Training Mode security bits to your employees. For more information about setting up security, refer to the online help topics. From the Contents tab, open the System Management book and then the Security book. Click here to open the overview topic, "Welcome to Eagle for Windows Security."

The following security bits apply to the Training Mode:

• 91— Allow system admin utilities (such as CDT, OSPREY). This bit is required to install and refresh the Training Mode. It is not required to work with the applications once in Training Mode.
• 125— Allow Login as TRAIN to access training universe database. This bit is required to enter the Training Mode from Network Access or the Eagle Browser window.

POS Training Mode

Option 101 "POS In Training? must be set to N (No) for the terminal before you enter Training Mode. If this option is set to Yes, then POS transactions that you complete in Training Mode are not saved.

Disk Space Requirements

During an Install or Refresh of the Training Mode, the system checks if there is sufficient disk space for the training mode data files. If there is insufficient space, a message displays.
