This print screen displays the user interface options that you can use to customize e-Store. Following the print screen are definitions for each option. For more information about the custom e-Store user interface, click the related topics button at the end of this topic.
As you review the definitions for the options, you'll find references to "self-hosted web pages." A self-hosted web page is a web page that you host on a web server other than the Epicor iNet web servers. Generally, the self-hosted web pages are maintained by you (assisted by the web-hosting company that you've contracted with). You have complete control over self-hosted web pages and can customize these pages according to your individual business requirements.

(ID# 4704) Colors for iNet banner area
Use this option to specify the font color and background color for the horizontal banner area at the top of the iNet user interface. The banner displays your store name and the signed on user. Specify the colors in hexadecimal code (hex) as 6 digit RGB values. Specify the font color first and then the background color separated by a comma. For example, you want a black font color and a white background color in the banner, then specify '000000,FFFFFF' for this option. For more information about color and hex values, click here to go to the color palette topic.
If you set this option and do not also set the 'List Colors' option (4708), then the list area on the left in the iNet user interface will use the same font color and background color as the banner area.
This option is not used with the classic iNet user interface.
(ID# 4706) Colors for iNet toolbar area
Use this option to specify the colors for the horizontal tool bar area at the top of the iNet user interface immediately below the banner. The font color and background color you set with this option will also be used with all buttons and table headings on all iNet pages.
Four colors can be specified: (1) font color, (2) background color, (3) rollover font color, and (4) rollover background color. The rollover is the highlighted area used to indicate the current mouse selection. Specify the colors in hexadecimal code (hex) as 6 digit RGB values. Separate the hex code values by commas. Enter the hex codes in the following order: font color, background color, rollover font color, rollover background color. For example, you want a black font and white background, with a rollover blue font and rollover red background, then specify '000000,FFFFFF,0000FF,FF0000' for this option. For more information about color and hex values, click here to go to the color palette topic.
This option is not used with the classic iNet user interface.
(ID# 4708) Colors for iNet list on left
Use this option to specify the colors for the vertical department list or function list displayed on the left side of the iNet user interface.
These options allow you to specify two optional links to custom pages in the toolbar used with e-Store/Online Catalog and with Order Pro/Customer Access (Accounts Online). The custom pages are usually pages that you self-host on your own web server separate from the iNet web server. You can specify both a label for the link and the URL the link points to. When a user clicks the link, your custom page will display in the main work frame of e-Store/Online catalog or Order Pro/Customer Access (Accounts Online).
Optional link 1 displays on the left side of the toolbar immediately following all the standard links that display on the left side of the toolbar. Optional link 2 displays on the right side of the toolbar, immediately preceding all the standard toolbar links that normally display on the right side of the toolbar.
The links that you set with these options are used in both e-Store/Online Catalog and in Order Pro/Customer Access (Accounts Online). If you want to use different custom links for Order Pro/Customer Access, contact your iNet administrator to have this configured on the iNet web server.
(ID# 4710) Label for optional link 1
You can optionally display two links to your own self-hosted web pages in the horizontal iNet tool bar at the top of the iNet user interface. The left link is 'optional link 1' and the right link is 'optional link 2'. Use this option to specify the label for optional link 1. You must also specify a URL (Internet http address) for this link with the 'URL for Optional Link 1' option (4711) .
The optional links are not available with the classic iNet user interface.
(ID# 4711) URL for optional link 1
You can optionally display two links to your own self-hosted web pages in the horizontal iNet tool bar at the top of the iNet user interface. The left link is 'optional link 1' and the right link is 'optional link 2'. Use this option to specify the URL (Internet http address) for optional link 1.
By default, the 'target' for this URL is the main iNet work frame, so the new page opens in this frame. You can change the default, so that the target for the URL is:
A new browser window. To do this, append |B to this URL. Clicking on the link then causes your self-hosted page to be displayed in a new browser window.
The parent window of the current browser. To do this, append |P to this URL. Clicking on the link then causes your self-hosted page to display in the parent window of the current browser, so your page replaces the iNet page currently displayed in the browser.
The optional links are not available with the classic iNet user interface.
(ID# 4714) Label for optional link 2
You can optionally display two links to your own self-hosted web pages in the horizontal iNet tool bar at the top of the iNet user interface. The left link is 'optional link 1' and the right link is 'optional link 2'. Use this option to specify the label for optional link 2. You must also specify a URL (Internet http address) for this link with the 'URL for Optional Link 2' option (4715).
The optional links are not available with the classic iNet user interface.
(ID# 4715) URL for optional link 2
You can optionally display two links to your own self-hosted web pages in the horizontal iNet tool bar at the top of the iNet user interface. The left link is 'optional link 1' and the right link is 'optional link 2'. Use this option to specify the URL (Internet http address) for optional link 2.
(ID# 4730) Alignment of item extended description
Use this option to specify the location of the extended description that displays on the item detail screens. The location can be either
0 - Bottom, below the picture of the item. If your item pictures are relatively large, the extended description may have the best appearance when displayed below the picture.
1 - Right, to the right of the picture. If your item pictures are relatively small, the extended description may have the best appearance when displayed to the right of the picture.
(ID# 5787) Link on store name
Use this option to specify an http link for the store name displayed in the banner area of the iNet user interface. This option is useful if you have another web site for your store that you want to link your iNet site to. Specify the link in standard Internet URL format. The target for the link will be the parent window for the current iNet session.
This option is not available for the iNet 'classic' user interface.
(ID# 5789) Base URL for self-hosted pages on your iNet site
Use this option to specify a URL (Internet http address) that is the base part of the URL used with other self-hosted web pages (such as a self-hosted home page or self-hosted policies page). This option allows you to use URLs for self-hosted web pages that are up to 64 characters in length.
The base part of the URL that you enter in this option will be pre-pended (added to the beginning) to any partial URLs that you enter in other options used to configure self-hosted web pages. A partial URL is any URL that does not start with http:// or www. This option is used in conjunction with the options for specifying self-hosted home pages, the optional links available in the new look toolbar, the e-Store policies link, and the store name link.
For example, if the 'Home page for iNet Catalog and e-Store' option is set to /myhomepage and this option (5789) is set to http://mydomain.com, then iNet will use http://mydomain.com/myhomepage as the full path to your self-hosted iNet Catalog and e-Store home page.
Note: If all your self-hosted pages do not use the same base URL, then you'll need to specify the full URL for the page that does not use the base URL. For example for most of your self-hosted pages use domain1, but the Signoff page is domain2. You would then set up the options as follows, specifying the full URL for the Signoff page:
Base URL – www.domain1.com
Home page URL – /myhomepage.htm
Policies page URL – /mypolicies.htm
Signoff page URL – www.domain2.com/signoff
(ID# 5791) Policies page for e-Store
If you self-host the Policies page for your e-Store site on your own web server, enter the URL for your e-Store Policies page in this option. Self-hosting your own e-Store policies page allows you to make edits to this page yourself. If you self-host your own e-Store policies page, then this page should include an internal link (anchor) with the name of 'ship' for the section of your e-Store policies page that discusses shipping fees. The e-Store will have a 'shipping fees' link on the checkout page that points to this internal link. For example, if the URL to your self-hosted e-Store Policies page is http://www.myserver.com/policies.htm, then the 'Shipping Fees' link on the e-Store checkout page will point to https://www.myserver.com/policies.htm#ship.
This option is not available with the iNet 'classic look' user interface.
