Once you have defined your customer groups (click here if you haven't), the next thing to do is define product codes. Use the Modify Price Matrix window (MPM) to create a price matrix for a product code. Items that are assigned the product code in Inventory Maintenance will have the price matrix prices (Prices 1 through 5) calculated based on how you define the product code in MPM.
Prices can be calculated based on the following types:
A percentage above cost. This is a + (plus) type matrix price. You select which cost to use (replacement, average, mfg, or market).
A percentage below retail. This is a – (minus) type matrix price.
A percentage up from retail. The @ symbol signifies this type of matrix price.
A price calculated based on gross profit percent. The letter G signifies this type of matrix price.
A specific dollar amount added to the cost price. This is a $ (dollar) type matrix price.
A specific price you enter in Inventory Maintenance. This is an * (asterisk) type matrix price.
Click Go To and click Modify Price Matrix.
Decide which Product Code number you want to set up. Click the Round? field and then click the down arrow. Make a selection and then click OK.
Price rounding only applies if the Ind field is set to +, – , or $.
Click the Ind field and then click the down arrow. Make a selection and then click OK.
If the Ind field is +, -, $, or @ (plus, minus, dollar sign, or "at" sign), click the Percent field and enter the percentage or dollar amount. If the Ind field is * (asterisk) or blank, do not enter anything in the Percent field.
Complete steps 3 through 5 for each customer group (#1 through #5) that applies to the Product Code.
Complete steps 3 through 6 for each Product Code that you need to set up.
