Promotions – What price do qualifiers receive? This option determines if an item(s) which qualifies
an item or group of items for dynamic promotion pricing, but which
itself does not receive dynamic promotion pricing, should receive
a discounted price. (Excluding sale priced items - see Note 1 below.)
Choose from Retail Price, Posted Price, or Customer Price:
Set to A
to always sell the qualifier(s) at the Inventory
Maintenance Retail Price.
Set to R
for Retail Price unless on promotion. Select
R if you do not want the qualifier to get any discounts. Set to
C if you want the qualifier to receive the customer's
standard price, but not any manual discount given during posting the
item using <Disc>, or <Promo>, or <Cntrl O>.
Set to P
if you want the qualifier to receive the
customer's standard price plus any manual discount given during posting
using <Disc>, or <Promo>, or <Cntrl O>.
For example, an item is set up for 'buy one, get one free' and its
retail price is $3.99. This item is on the customer's CPP plan for
a 10% discount, so their price is $3.59. If this option is set to
R, the resulting sale will be one at $3.99 and the second free. If
this option is set to P, the resulting sale will be one at $3.59 and
the second free.
The difference between P and C is whether or not a manual override
survives. For example, a clerk may post a CPP covered item using <Disc>
to give an additional 10% off. When this option is set to P, the resulting
sale will be one at $3.23 and the second free. With C, the resulting
sale will be one at $3.59 and the second free.
Note:
• When set to R, a qualifier receiving a regular sale price (from Modify
Item Promotions--MIP) will not be repriced to the Retail price from
Inventory Maintenance.
• This option does not apply to Dynamic Promotions that are recorded
as a 'Regular Sale'. In this case the qualifier receives the posted
price.

Promotions - Default for 'Use Best Price'?Enter the desired default value for the Best Price
field.
Each eligible Dynamic Promotion (DP) can be set to a different value
if 9802 = Yes.. The default comes from this option for Dynamic Promotions
that support Best Price; currently Best Price applies to DP types
1, 2, 3, 13 and 14.
"Best Price" is the total price of all items in the Dynamic
Promotion is compared before and after the promotion is applied. The
lowest price is taken. Either way, the items may not participate in
another Dynamic Promotion.

when inactive promotions are deleted by the monthly archive purge.
An inactive promotion is deleted once its End Date is older than the
number of days entered in this option.

9850 “Days to Keep Dynamic Promotion Item Lists.” Use this option
to control when Item Lists used by Dynamic Promotions are deleted
by the monthly archive purge. The item list is deleted once its Date
Last Updated is older than the number of days entered in this option
AND the Dynamic Promotion(s) that use it are no longer in Maintain
Dynamic Promotions (MDP).
Dynamic
Promotions respect the setting in the customer's "Allow Regular Promotion
Pricing" field in Customer Maintenance.
Set up the following options to enable the system to prorate the return
price for items purchased on a Dynamic Promotion. Example
of prorated return priceThe
return price of each item is based on its percentage of the total of the
items' original price;
Buy a broom for $12 and get a $6 dustpan free (DP type 3)
Broom sells for $12, returns for $8
Dustpan sells for $6, returns for $4
Why? The broom is 2/3 of the original total of $18 and the dustpan
is 1/3.
Note: This section only applies if you have Advanced Archive Management
(option 7199 is set to Yes).
