This topic explains the options and security that must be set up in order to use the Bad Check List feature.

Display the Options Configuration window.

Click ID. Using the list below, enter the ID number of the option, and click OK. Click in the Current Value column, select the desired setting, and click Change. Repeat this process for all options in the list. For more information about a particular option in the list, click on its blue underlined text.

Option 8276 " Perform 'Bad Check' validation at POSSet this option to Yes to start using the Bad Check Validation feature. The Kept By method for this option defaults to System, but you can change it to Store, Terminal, or User."

Option 8277 " Print Driver’s License in check endorsement?If you print endorsements on checks at POS (option 1110 "Endorse Checks?" is set to Yes), set this option to Yes if you want the driver’s license entered in the Check Verification window to print with the endorsement on the back of the check. That way, if that check does end up being returned, you will have the drivers license to record in the Bad Check List.
The driver's license number will print as the last line in the endorsement. For example:

Assign the following security bits to the appropriate employees. Typically these security bits would only be assigned to management personnel.
