To use the Cash Drawer Locking feature, you must set up the relevant options on your Eagle system.
Click ID. Using the list below, enter the ID number of the option, and click OK. Click in the Current Value column, select the appropriate setting, and click Change. Repeat this process for all options in the list.
ID# 5419 “Accumulate and Print Cash Drawer Totals By Clerk, Terminal, or Store.” This option must be set to C (clerk).
ID# 9905 “Use Cash Drawer Locking feature.” This option must be set to Yes. Note: This option's Kept By method defaults to System, but you can change it to be by Terminal if you want to try out this feature on a single terminal initially.
ID# 9906 “Which cash drawer is updated for roving manager w/o their own till.” Epicor strongly recommends setting this option to "manager."
ID# 9904 “Release locked cash drawers from prior day.” This optio applies only when option 5419 is set to C (clerk) and option 9905 is set to Yes. If you set option 9904 to Yes, then when you run the Daily Sales Report (RDS) with option C "Close Cash Drawers" to close a clerk's cash drawer balance record, the system also checks for any cash drawer locks the clerk left in place and releases them.
ID# 9800 “Tender Types allowed when no cash drawer available.” Select the tender types that are allowed when there is no cash drawer at a given POS station. This option applies when either of these are true: 1) The station's option 9796 "Does this terminal have a physical cash drawer? is N because it physically does not have a cash drawer - OR - 2) The station has a cash drawer but it is unavailable, and the clerk signing on has selected to "Proceed without using cash drawer." Note: If you include Debit (the Alternate Tender with the Type set to Debit), the system doesn't do anything to disallow entering "cash back" on the signature pad. You set up this option by selecting from the following list of tender types:
B=Credit Card
C=Charge
K=Check
1=Alt Tender 1
2=Alt Tender 2
3=Alt Tender 3
4=Alt Tender 4
5=Alt Tender 5
6=Alt Tender 6
7=Alt Tender 7
8=Alt Tender 8
9=Alt Tender 9
A=Alt Tender 10
Note: If the clerk has security bit 595 “Ability to access cash drawer set to No, it takes precedence over option 9800. No matter what is entered in option 9800, if bit 595 is No the clerk will only be allowed to create a transaction for a charge customer. (This is bit 595=No’s current behavior.) Warning: Do not set this option to blank. If you do, then in the above situations, the clerk will have no tender choices when they press <Total>. Their only choice will be to Void the transaction.
Assign the following security bits as appropriate.
Bit 1032 “Ability to use POS when its cash drawers are locked by other users”
Bit 1033 “Ability to release another user’s locked cash drawer.” Note: Bit 1033 requires bit 1032 is set to Yes.
Bit 1034 “Ability to use a locked cash drawer”
