The CALCPNT utility converts dollars to points based on options that you have set and units sold. If you put the CALCPNT function in a queue, it will create points from accumulated, qualified Sales dollars (at EOM it must run before RFR or RSA). Sales are tracked in MCR and accumulate in the Period-to-Date field. Credit memos will show as negative.
CALCPNT only reads accounts that have a âTâ in the 4th Account Code Position. Specifically, this utility makes sure that:
The Last Calculated Points number is used to run daily reports to calculate sales and move those points into the Points Balance.
For example, sales today of 10.00 is moved over to Points Balance to start fresh tomorrow. So every day the report runs to calculate dollars off of Points Balance numbers. It is important to verify that Last Calculated Sales are cleared out daily or you will give away the dollars more than once. Therefore, RSA/RFR will finalize on a daily basis for these accounts only (using the account code).
Points Balance number is converted into dollars.
RFR/RSA follows CALCPNT.
A queued report clears the Last Calculated Sales field for accounts with a âTâ in the 4th Account Code position.
