Marketing Tool gives you good info about customer sales: what are they buying, when are they buying it, targeted marketing campaigns like customers who bought a certain product
The basic concept for Eagle Loyalty is:
A customer asks to sign up for the loyalty program at point of sale.
The point of sale clerk uses Customer Quick Add to create the loyalty account and assign the loyalty account number.
The sale continues with the customer receiving credit for their first purchase.
In the back office, an in-store gift card is assigned (via stored credit card application) to the loyalty account.
On a daily basis, loyalty purchase dollars are converted to loyalty points (using functions CALCPNT and RFR PTD that you set up to run in a queue).
Periodically (as frequently as desired), points are converted to loyalty dollars cards (using a conversion utility you run on demand, not in a queue, based on a set of loyalty options).
Loyalty customers are cash customers and exist in Customer Maintenance. Loyalty charge account customers do not track PTD figures in MCR as these figures are used for daily point calculations and are cleared out daily.
Loyalty customers (including the loyalty account number) can be added via Customer Quick Add in POS.
All loyalty customers must be coded using account codes. This is important because RFR PTD roll is run daily for all loyalty customers after the point calculation program CALCPNT has run.
All loyalty accounts have 10-digit account numbers.
The customer gets loyalty points based on a formula for dollars of product purchased.
Loyalty Points are batch updated on a daily basis as part of end-of day reporting.
When a customer accumulates a pre-defined number of points, they receive dollars on a loyalty dollars card. Gift cards may be tied to the loyalty account and updated automatically.
When dollars are added to the loyalty dollars card, loyalty points automatically reduce.
Points associated with an account are viewable in Customer Maintenance and in the customer detail dialogue from Point of Sale. Remember, loyalty points are updated daily at the end of day so the dialogue shows points as of the last point update.
Points are stored in the customer record (MCR) and may be manually changed.
Returned items reduce loyalty points.
Loyalty dollars card accounts are flagged and accessible points in Compass.
The Eagle loyalty program supports "loyalty customers only" promotions and custom loyalty point setup.
If using Loyalty Manager:
PTD sales figures are tracked.
Account coding is not required EXCEPT for those customers who will convert points to Gift Cards. It will still require the T in position 4.
RFR/RSA rolls are not necessary.
