You must upgrade the software on your En-Touch 1000 signature pad to version 3.33 in order to operate with the Tax Exemption feature. To upgrade the En-Touch 1000 software, perform the following procedures:
Go to a station that has an En-Touch 1000 and launch Eagle Browser. Click the Utilities selection on the left hand side of the Eagle Browser. Select Device Configuration.
If you do not see Device Configuration listed, you may not have security authorization to access this application. See your system administrator if you need help.
Highlight Credit/Debit Pad and press Enter. Note the COM Port number that displays on the screen, as you will need to re-enter this information in a few moments. Click the Device button and select En-Touch 1000 Ver. 3.33. Click OK.
Click the Port button and select the COM Port you noted in step 2. Click OK.
Click the Test button. The "Debit Pad Software Update" window displays. Click OK. The En-Touch 1000 software update begins and will take approximately five minutes to complete. Do not disturb the En-Touch 1000 while the software update is running!
The software upgrade is complete when the En-Touch 1000 returns to the payment type screen.
Close the "Debit Pad Quick Test" window and click OK. The "Can we test this Credit/Debit Pad now?" displays. Click No.
Highlight the Signature Capture entry and press Enter. Select En-Touch 1000 Rev 3.33 and click OK. Click OK again. The "Can we test the signature capture pad now?" displays. Click No. Click or press <F2> to exit Device Configuration. The En-Touch 1000 is now ready for use.
Repeat this procedure for each En-Touch 1000 unit.
