(Optional) Modifying the Way a Purchasing Option Is Kept

Each Purchasing option in the Options Configuration window has a "Kept By" method associated with it. There are four Kept By methods:

• By System— one setting for the entire system
• By Store— one setting per store
• By Terminal— one setting per terminal
• By User— one setting per user

When an option in the grid is highlighted, its Kept By method displays in the bottom portion of the screen.

If the phrase "can be changed" displays, you can change the way the highlighted item is kept. For example, you may want to change an option from being kept by system (one setting for the entire system) to being kept by terminal (one setting per terminal).

Modifying the Way a Purchasing Option Is Kept

1. Display the Options Configuration window.
2. Click the arrow to the right of the Subsystem box and select Purchasing from the drop-down list.
3. Click the arrow to the right of the Options box and select E4W-Eagle for Windows from the drop-down list.
4. Click Display.
5. Click on an option for which you want to change the Kept By method.
6. Verify that its Kept By method can be changed by checking the upper right corner for the phrase "can be changed" (as described in the beginning of this topic). If its Kept By method can be changed, continue with step 7.
7. Click Misc.
8. Click Change Kept By From. The Change How Kept By dialog box displays.
9. Click on the Kept By method you want, and click OK.
10. Important: if you changed the Kept By method of any Purchasing option to "User," you must assign a value for that option for each user. Click here for the procedure.
