Temporary Serial Numbers: Setup

This topic explains the SKU and options setup required to use the Temporary Serial Numbers feature.

Set Up SKUs as Tally S

Any SKUs to which you'll assign temporary serial numbers must be set up as Tally S items. If you haven't already, enter an S in the *Tally field (located on the Codes tab of Inventory Maintenance) for the appropriate items. For more information, click here.

Set Up Options

1. Display the Options Configuration window.

2. Click ID. Using the list below, enter the ID number of the option, and click OK. Click in the Current Value column, select the desired setting, and click Change. Repeat this process for all options in the list.

3. Option 8989 "Allow adding temporary serial #’s during receiving?" Set this option to Y.

4. Option 5812  "Default price label format used for Windows label printing." Set this option to use a label layout for printing serial numbers.
