Delivery Confirmation Overview

Delivery Confirmation allows you to obtain the customer's signature on a hand-held PC (also known as a PDA or "personal digital assistant") when you deliver merchandise to your customers. Besides obtaining the customer's signature, the delivery person can also create notes, capture an image such as a photograph of the receiving customer or of the delivery load itself, and edit quantities on the order or invoice. The signatures, images, and notes from the PDA are uploaded to the Eagle where they are stored in the Delivery Manifest. The signatures are linked with the invoice/order, and if you print statements with invoices, the remotely-captured signature prints on the appropriate invoice.

Prior to deliveries, you'll download the desired transactions from the Eagle system to the PDA. You can download open orders if you prefer delivery transactions remain open order documents during the delivery process, or you can download invoices if you prefer transactions are invoiced prior to the goods leaving the store. You can also download a combination of both invoices and orders.

When deliveries are complete, the signed transactions, including any notes and images, are uploaded from the PDA back to the Eagle system, where they are stored and can be viewed from the the Delivery Manifest. Signed transactions can also be viewed in the Document Archive Viewer and in QuickRecall (invoices only).
