Use the following procedure to set up your system to use the Customer Maintenance Changes Viewer.
Changes made in legacy MCR, CCN, and CCJ are not recorded in the Customer Maintenance Changes Viewer.
The Licensing Department or Eagle Advice Line must activate the flag "Customer Maintenance Changes Viewer on System" in Options Configuration.
Assign security for the Customer Maintenance Changes Viewer to the appropriate employees, as follows:
Assign bit 694 for employees who will have access to the Customer Maintenance Changes Viewer.
Other security bits to consider:
bits 236 and 309, for access and add/change/delete capabilities for extended descriptions (MED) so that you can add notes.
bits 657 and 681: bit 657 gives a clerk "display only" capability in legacy MCR, while bit 681 allows "full" Legacy MCR functionality. To limit clerks to "display only" functionality in MCR, set bit 657 to Yes and bit 681 to No. Or, disallow access to legacy MCR altogether by setting both bits to No. Epicor recommends you limit or disallow access to legacy MCR because changes made in legacy MCR are NOT recorded in the Customer Maintenance Changes log.
Note that if a clerk will have access to legacy MCR, whether they'll have "full" access or "display only" access, he/she must also have bit 131 (the standard legacy MCR access security bit).
bit 677: the ability to make changes in legacy functions CCN and CCJ. You should consider setting this bit to No for your clerks, because changes performed in legacy CCN/CCJ are not reflected in the Customer Maintenance Changes Viewer. Note that if a clerk has this bit, he/she must also have bit 293 to access legacy CCN.
