Use the following procedure to set up your system to use the Inventory Maintenance Changes Viewer.
Changes made in legacy MVR are not recorded in the Vendor Maintenance Changes Viewer.
The Licensing Department or Eagle Advice Line must activate the flag "Vendor Maintenance Changes Viewer on System" in Options Configuration.
Assign security for the Vendor Maintenance Changes Viewer to the appropriate employees, as follows:
Assign bit 695 for employees who will have access to the Vendor Maintenance Changes Viewer.
Other security bits to consider are bits 678 and 683:
Bit 678 gives a clerk "display only" capability in legacy MVR, while bit 683 allows "full" legacy MVR functionality. To limit clerks to "display only" functionality in legacy MVR, set bit 678 to Yes and bit 683 to No. Or, disallow access to legacy MVR altogether by setting both bits to No. Note that if a clerk will have access to legacy MVR, whether they'll have "full" access or "display only" access, he/she must also have bit 178 (the standard legacy MVR access security bit).
The reason you should consider limiting access to legacy MVR is that changes performed in legacy MVR are not reflected in the Vendor Maintenance Changes Viewer.
