The topics in this book will help you become familiar with the features and benefits of using the Ace telecommunication features available on your system. The features include:
Purchase Order Transmission— a purchase option that allows you to electronically transmit your orders to Ace Hardware.
Electronic Invoicing (ERP)— a purchase option that allows you to electronically receive invoice information before the shipment arrives. ERP reduces the time it takes you to receive an order, and reduces posting errors. You can also improve inventory management by reducing stockouts, and improve gross margin by immediately taking advantage of price changes.
Electronic File Maintenance (EFM)— a purchase option that allows you to electronically receive and add new Ace items to your Inventory File, receive updates to items currently in your Inventory File, and receive price changes. EFM reduces the manual effort involved in adding new items to your inventory and in managing the changes to items currently in your inventory. Price change updates reduce the time it takes to make price changes; therefore, price changes can be activated more quickly, which will help increase margins. Since the price updates are automated, you should see a reduction in labor costs.
Reverse Purchase Order Downloads— If you use ACENET to place Drop Ship orders, you can download Reverse purchase orders (Drop Ship orders) from Ace via Electronic File Maintenance (EFM) and the system will automatically create a PO in the Purchasing and Receiving window. This means you don't have to spend time manually creating Reverse purchase orders.
