(Customer Activity Notes users only)
The Customer Activity Notes application allows you to enter and view notes for your accounts receivable customers. The features of this application include the following:
Notes are entered as text, up to 30,000 characters.
Notes are categorized by a note type. Two note types are pre-defined, C (Credit) and S (Sales). You can add other note types and descriptions. Also, you can change or delete the two pre-defined note types. A note type must be assigned when entering a note. Up to 36 note types can be defined (A through Z, and 0 through 9).
Notes have a status code. The four available codes are: Info, Open, Closed, and Deleted. Info notes do not have a follow-up date. Notes that were entered with a follow-up date can have a status of Open or Closed. A note (any note type or status code) can be marked as Deleted.
Priority numbers can be assigned to notes. A number from 1 to 9 can be assigned to a note. How you use the priority numbering system is up to you. You can use #1 as the highest priority number or use #9 as the highest priority number. The priority number of a note displays in the Priority column in the Customer Activity Notes viewer.
If you enter a follow-up date when creating a note, you have the option to send a reminder. Reminders display in the Alerts viewer.
An audit trail is associated with each note when it is created or modified, so you can track the date and time a note was entered and who entered the note.
Customer Activity Notes Viewer (CANV) – for customers that exist in Customer Maintenance texts that are non-specific are recorded to the customer’s activity notes. This includes texts for Rain Check items which are back in stock, texts sent from the Customer Viewer, and texts sent using the <Send Text> button in MCR, or ROA, or MOI, or CANV.
