COM: Overview

(Customer Order Management users only. This application was formerly known as Advanced Order Entry.)

The Customer Order Management (COM) application (formerly known as Advanced Order Entry) is a multi-point order fulfillment system designed to accommodate the various methods your business employs to fill customer's orders. For example, some or all of the following situations may apply to your business:

 There are two Order Entry methods within the application:  

  1. You can fulfill an order from the Order Entry Header screen by transferring all items from another location, with a choice of three shipping methods.

  2. You can fulfill an order from the Order Entry Posting screen on an item-by-item basis by selecting from a menu of the various fulfillment methods. You can transfer the item, backorder it, or select an alternate item (i.e. substitute). You can also view the item's availability in your other stores, as well as view the Purchase Order Viewer to check if the item is on order. The menu displays in any of following conditions:
