Representative Groups: Overview

Representative Groups are useful for businesses that need the ability to group items together at a level that is separate from the Department, Class, and Fineline Structure.

To create a Representative Group, you designate one of the group items as the Representative Item, which starts a Representative Group. You then assign additional Representative Members to that group. In other words, the Representative Item is arbitrarily assigned to one of the Representative Group members; therefore, the Representative Item is also a member of the group that can be bought and sold like any other Representative Group member. However, if desired, Representative Items can be set up as "dummy," non-stocked items (with the Keep Stock Info field in Inventory Maintenance set to N).

Once you create Representative Groups, they can be used in the Inventory Viewer and in iNet.
