Explanation

Entries, Keystrokes, and Navigation

Entries that you make and keys that you press to perform a function at the terminal appear in boldface type inside angle brackets or single quotes. Consider these examples:

Press <Enter>.
Type LOC<Enter>.
Type ‘N’.

Navigation keystrokes are indicated in the main text by Bold type enclosed by angle brackets. Multiple keys are handled as follows:

<Ctrl+S>

Indicates that the control key should be pressed simultaneously with the <s> key.

<Alt><B>

Indicates that the two keys should be pressed in succession (one after the other).

<Alt+L><N>

Indicates that the first two keys are pressed simultaneously, while the third key is pressed after the first two have been released.

In order to avoid confusion between 1(one) and l (lower-case L) and I (upper-case i), capital letters are used throughout to indicate keyboard shortcuts.  If the shift key needs to be pressed, it is indicated explicitly, as in the following: <Shift + right arrow>
