Alternate Items: Options and Security Setup

(Inventory Pro users only)

This topic explains the options and security that must be set up in order to use the Alternate Items feature.

Set Up Options

  1. Display the Options Configuration window.

  2. Click ID. In the dialog that displays, in the Option ID field, type 8349 and click OK. The option  "Alternate Items on System" displays. Click in the Current Value column, type a Y, and click Change.

  3. Click ID. In the dialog that displays, in the Option ID field, type 8351 and click OK. The option " Display Alternate Items without Quantity Available?" displays. Click in the Current Value column, and enter Yes or No. Click Change.

  4. Click ID. In the dialog that displays, in the Option ID field, type 8352 and click OK. The option " Allow Selling Customer Excluded Alternate Items at POS?" displays. Click in the Current Value column, and enter Yes or No. Click Change.

Security

Assign security bit 773 "View/Edit Alternate Items" to employees whom you want to be able to create and edit alternate item lists in the Alternate Items Viewer in Inventory Maintenance.
