(Optional) PPS/COM: Code Items to Always Transfer from Another Location

(Pick/Pack/Ship and Customer Order Management users only)

By placing a Y in the "Prompt for Transfer" field on the Codes tab of Inventory Maintenance, you can code items which should always transfer from another store. For example, if your retail store stocks hardware items, but commodity items like lumber are located in your central distribution warehouse, enter a Y in the Prompt for Transfer field for commodity items so the Order Entry clerk can automatically transfer the items from the distribution warehouse to the retail store.

The Prompt for Transfer field works in conjunction with the option "Display Source Menu When?" in Options Configuration to control whether the transfer option is activated regardless of quantity available. Set this option either to I (only prompt if the Prompt for Transfer" field is set to Y) or B (prompt if the "Prompt for Transfer" field is set to Y, and/or if the quantity for any item sold is insufficient.). If you set it to B, you must also set the option "Display Qty NA Warning Message" to Y.

Coding Items to Always Transfer

1. Display the Inventory Maintenance window.

   1. From the Eagle Browser, click Inventory Menu.

    

   2. From the Inventory Menu, click Inventory Maintenance (IMU).

   

2. Display the item you want to set up to always transfer.

3. Click the Codes tab.

4. In the Prompt for Transfer field, enter Y.

   

5. Click Change.

6. Repeat steps 2-5 for any other items you want to set up to always prompt for transfer.
