(Optional) Copying Layouts

Once you've created a financial statement layout, you can copy it. You may want to copy a layout because:

For example, you want to create a financial statement that shows only 15 specific expense accounts. Using the Copy Layouts feature, you could copy those sequence numbers from your Profit and Loss statement layout to generate a separate schedule showing amounts of the 15 expense accounts.

Copying a Layout

  1. Display the Financial Statement Layouts window.

  2. Display the layout you want to copy.

  3. Click Misc.

  4. Click Copy Layouts. The Copy Layouts dialog box displays.

  5. In the Copy From Company box, click the arrow to choose a store to copy from. If you are copying a layout within the same store, enter that store's store number.

  6. Click OK.

  7. In the From Layout box, click the arrow to choose the layout to copy.

  8. At Starting Sequence Number, enter the first sequence number to copy (for example, if you are creating a supporting schedule). If you are copying the entire layout, you can leave this field blank.

  9. At Ending Sequence Number, enter the last sequence number to copy (for example, if you are creating a supporting schedule). If you are copying the entire layout, you can leave this field blank.

  10. At To Layout, assign a new number to the layout you are creating (up to three digits).

  11. At New Description 1, enter a description for the layout you are creating.

  12. At New Description 2, you can continue entering a description for the layout you are creating, if necessary.

  13. At Supporting Schedule, click the box if you are creating a supporting schedule.

  14. Click OK.
