Account Codes is one of the selections from the Tools Menu in Customer Maintenance. (Note: Account Codes is also a field in Customer Maintenance).
When you select Account Codes from the Tools Menu, a window opens in which you can maintain a description of the account codes you've entered in the Account Codes field in the Customer Maintenance window. This field has four positions and you can set up a coding scheme to meet your business needs. You can then maintain the definition of account codes from the Customer Maintenance window and the Open Item Maintenance window.
When viewing or entering account codes on a customer account, you can display the Codes Maintenance window to review the definitions that you have set up for each account code in each of the four positions. To access the Codes Maintenance window, go to the Tools menu, then click Account Codes. Click here to go to the Maintaining Account Codes procedure.
You can also view the account codes from the Customer Maintenance window, the Miscellaneous tab.
