Loading a BOM Header

1. Add an item in Inventory Maintenance that you'll use as the Bill of Materials (BOM) header, which is the SKU under which you'll sell all the components of the BOM. As you add the header, keep the following in mind:

1. • the Keep Stock Info flag should be set to N.

   • the Keep Prices flag should be set to N.

   • If you set the Tax Status field to A (always assess tax), then the entire BOM and all of the components are always taxed. In addition, if you will have BOMs within this BOM, the components at every level will always be taxed.

   • The tax percentage of the BOM is based on the BOM header SKU. The tax percentage for components is ignored. If you have BOMs within a BOM, the tax percentage is based on the BOM at the highest level.

2. Display the Maintain Bill of Materials window.

3. Fill in the blank fields at the top of the window. For a definition of each field, click here.

4. Click Add. The Bill of Materials header is added.
