PartSource Plus Overview

PartSource Plus files are automotive part number files containing basic information about parts such as descriptions, prices, etc. Although many Eagle users, such as company-owned stores, may need only one PartSource Plus file, Eagle can utilize multiple PartSource Plus files for businesses that source parts from more than one vendor.

How PartSource Plus Files Are Used in Eagle

PartSource Plus files are used in POS and Inventory Maintenance to load new part numbers into inventory. They are also used in LaserCat to quote pricing for not-in-file part numbers and to indicate vendor availability status, and in AConneX to quote pricing for not-in-file part numbers.

The PartSource Plus Viewer (PSP) is provided to search and view content in PartSource Plus files. The PartSource Management Viewer (PSPM) is used to specify configuration settings prior to creating a PartSource Plus file.

How PartSource Plus Files Are Created

PartSource Plus source files may be provided through Epicor or directly by a supplier. The Eagle system provides Osprey utilities for creating PartSource Plus files from three source file types, including Epicor CDs, Custom files (including Unibible CD files), and files produced from Epicor Ultimate and Vision systems. Systems supported by ADM from a supplier’s system also receive additions and changes to PartSource Plus through ADM. Vendor Maintenance (MVR) line code and price mapping is used during PartSource Plus file creation to convert supplier line codes and price IDs to those used on the Eagle. You can set up an option in Options Configuration to only create PartSource file entries when Vendor line code mapping is found. This is useful for any business that only wants portions of the source file to be loaded into PartSource Plus.
