Dynamic Coupons: Options and Security Setup

To use the Dynamic Coupons feature, the following options must be enabled or set up on your Eagle system.

System Options

The system option 9871 “Dynamic Coupons on System” must be enabled on your system by an Epicor representative.

In Options Configuration, verify that the option is set to Yes. In the Options Configuration window, click ID, enter 9871, and press Enter. If the option is set to No, contact Epicor Direct at 800-538-8597.

Application Options

1. Display the Options Configuration window.

2. Click ID. Using the list below, enter the ID number of the option, and click OK. Click in the Current Value column, select the desired setting, and click Change. Repeat this process for all options in the list. For more information about a particular option, click its blue underlined text.

• ID# 1081 "Dynamic Promotions." This option must be set to Yes.

• ID# 9872 "Dynamic Coupon for All ReceiptsDynamic Coupon to be printed on every customer's receipt. Enter the Coupon ID of this coupon.  Coupons are defined in Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC). "

• ID# 9874 "Dynamic Coupon for All Non-Loyalty ReceiptsDynamic Coupon to be printed on the receipt of non-loyalty customers. Enter the Coupon ID of this coupon.  Coupons are defined in Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC)."  

• ID# 9875 "Dynamic Coupon Default Expiration DaysDefault number of days for which a Dynamic Coupon is valid. This sets the default expiration date or days when a Dynamic Coupon is added in Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC). "

• ID# 9876 "Dynamic Coupon Expiration Grace PeriodNumber of days after expiration a Dynamic Coupon will be honored by Point-of-Sale.
  Setting this option to a number greater than zero changes scanned coupon validation. Example: 3 means all coupons are valid for 3 days past the expiration date. "

The following four options, and their companion From/To Loyalty Level options, allow printing up to four different coupons based on the customer’s loyalty level.

Coupons are defined in Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC).On systems that have a loyalty program (Option 1182 is not N), the system can be configured to print a coupon for Loyalty Customers "

• • ID# 9880 Loyalty Coupon (1) 'From' Loyalty Level”

  • ID# 9881 “Loyalty Coupon (1) 'To' Loyalty Level”

• ID# 9882 " Loyalty Customer Dynamic Coupon (2)Dynamic Coupon #2,  to be printed on the receipt of loyalty customers. Enter the Coupon ID of this coupon. Coupons are defined in Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC).On systems that have a loyalty program (Option 1182 is not N), the system can be configured to print a coupon for Loyalty Customers "

   • ID# 9884 “Loyalty Coupon (1) 'To' Loyalty Level”

• ID# 9925 " Loyalty Customer Dynamic Coupon (3)Dynamic Coupon #3 to be printed on the receipt of loyalty customers. Enter the Coupon ID of this coupon. Coupons are defined in Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC).On systems that have a loyalty program (Option 1182 is not N), the system can be configured to print a coupon for Loyalty Customers "

   • ID# 9927 “Loyalty Coupon (3) 'To' Loyalty Level”

• ID# 9928 " Loyalty Customer Dynamic Coupon (4)Dynamic Coupon #4, to be printed on the receipt of loyalty customers. Enter the Coupon ID of this coupon. Coupons are defined in Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC).On systems that have a loyalty program (Option 1182 is not N), the system can be configured to print a coupon for Loyalty Customers "

Security Setup

Assign the following security bits as appropriate.

• Bit 1028 View Dynamic Coupons. Controls the ability to access the Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC) viewer in the Eagle Browser.

• Bit 1029 Add/Change/Delete Dynamic Coupons. Controls the ability to add/change/delete in the Maintain Dynamic Coupons (MDC) viewer.
