Rule 2 - Rounding down even 10 cents

This is the second rounding rules area of the Price Rounding table (PRO). If the system does not find a match using Rule 1, it uses this area of the table to determine what to round the cent value to. The system only uses this area of the table if the cent value is a multiple of 10.

For example: One of the lines of your Price Rounding table is set up as follows:

If you have an item with a cost of $2.45 and a desired gross margin of 50%, the system calculates a retail price of $4.90 without price rounding. Using the table, the system determines that the cents value of .90 is not less than .09, so it will not use the Rule 1.

The cent value of .90 is a multiple of ten, so it will use Rule 2 to round the cent value down to 9. The retail price with price rounding is $4.89.

If the cent value is not a multiple of ten, the system goes to the next area of rounding rules, Rule 3.
