Default Supplier Files

You can choose to use default supplier files when you create new suppliers.  The default files are located here:

C:\NetCatDefault

You cannot use the Supplier Maintenance Wizard to directly alter these files, however, you can alter the files for a specific supplier and then copy them to the default directory.  It is strongly recommended that you create a backup of the default files before you attempt this.  

If you are not familiar with backing up files and directories, contact your system administrator.  A mistake in this area can result in a need to re-install the application.

To modify the default files, follow this procedure:

1. Backup the default directory. How?

   1. Open Windows Explorer.  

   If you are not familiar with Windows Explorer, do not proceed.  Contact your system administrator for instructions.
    

   2. Navigate to C:\.

   3. Locate the NetCatDefault directory.
      (C:\NetCatDefault)

   4. Highlight the directory in the files pane.

   5. Press <Ctrl+C>.

   6. Press <Ctrl+V>.

   The system creates a directory named

   C:\Copy of NetCatDefault

   This is your backup copy of the default files directory.  Do not alter any files in this directory.  

2. Modify coverages, categories, groups, and messages until you have a supplier set up the way you want the default to be.  For detailed instructions refer to these topics:

3. Copy the desired supplier directory files to the default directory. How?

   1. Open Windows Explorer.  

   If you are not familiar with Windows Explorer, do not proceed.  Contact your system administrator for instructions.
    

   2. Navigate to C:\.

   3. Locate the NetCatSupplier directory.
      (C:\NetCatSupplier)

   4. Locate the directory for the supplier you want to use as your default supplier.

   5. Navigate to the "A" sub-directory.

      For example, if you have suppliers named btest, TS, ytest, and ztest, the directory structure would look like the image below.  If you wanted to use the TS supplier as your default, you would navigate to the A directory.

      

   6. Highlight the contents of the A directory.

      

   7. Press <Ctrl+C> to copy the contents.

   8. Navigate to C:\NetCatDefault.

   9. Click in the right-hand pane.

   10. Press <Ctrl+V> to paste the files into the default directory.  

   You have successfully changed the default supplier files.
