LaserCat 3 Integration: Server Setup

LaserCat Servers

Most Eagle for the Aftermarket users have multiple LaserCat servers. The LaserCat sever installation and data update software is accessed directly from Windows on each server. Follow the instructions provided with the installation and update media. Each LaserCat requires the Eagle client Scheduler software for use in synchronizing supplier and PartExpert editor files across all LaserCat servers.

LaserCat User Maintenance Options

The “LaserCat User Maintenance.exe” program is on each LaserCat server in the Webcat folder. Because the Eagle options override almost all of these options when you open LaserCat in Eagle POS, this program is typically not used much in an Eagle installation, if at all. Because LaserCat sometimes has more frequent updates than Eagle there are sometimes options available through “LaserCat User Maintenance.exe” before they are available in Eagle LaserCat options.

LaserCat Supplier Maintenance (MCL)

LaserCat Suppler Maintenance is available under the Inventory Setup and Maintenance folder in the Eagle Browser. This program is only available from an Eagle client that is using the master LaserCat server, meaning options 8602 and 8608  for the terminal have the same value. The LaserCat server that the Eagle client is using is registered on the PC when LaserCat is started from Eagle POS. LaserCat Suppler Maintenance uses this registered server address, so to be sure the correct supplier files are being updated, LaserCat should be run from Eagle POS on the PC prior to running LaserCat Suppler Maintenance to be sure the master server is the registered server.

Use LaserCat Suppler Maintenance to:

PartExpert Editor

Use this program to modify or add catalog information. The “PartExpert Editor.exe” program is located in the master LaserCat Sever Webcat folder. The Eagle Scheduler tasks "MCL Upload" and "MCL Download" include the PartExpert Editor data.
